Great Devotional Apps
Do you have a devotional life with God? What about your prayer life? Do you spend time reading a devotional and journaling? Maybe you feel like you need to make some changes to your devotional and prayer time. Maybe you’re tired of the devotional books you have. I get it! On my night stand beside my bed I have 7 different devotional books and how to pray books. They are all great books but sometimes I need a change.
You’re in luck! I’m going to share some great apps available to download and they are all free. Let’s change things up a bit.
Living Proof with Beth Moore. This app gives you access to some of Beth’s teachings. You will also be able to listen to Beth’s podcasts.
John and Lisa Bevere have release this app giving you access to some of their books as well as audio books, teaching series’s and much more.
The First 5 app is by Proverbs 31 Ministries with Lysa TerKeurst. The idea is that you give God the first 5 minutes of your day.

Great Reads
On Saturday I participated in a zoom conference. During our first breakout session on Saturday I was, by happenstance, or more likely God, put into a small group. When we all began to share there were 3 of us currently going through different things but similar feelings.
I feel like I have to tell everyone about the book I’m currently reading by Max Lucado; “You Were Made For This Moment.” I can’t say enough about this book. It is speaking right into my life right now. It is a must read!!!
Do you wonder what God is doing in your life right now? Many seem to be feeling these same feelings. You can also get the audio version.
“Out of Control and Loving It” is one of Lisa Bevere’s first books. Lisa shares a lot of her story in this book and how she got through some very difficult times because she relied on the wisdom and majesty of God. I love how Lisa brings scripture into her story and explains how she drew strength through different scripture passages. We did this as a book study and we had some amazing conversations with the women in our book study group.
Confused. Scared. Pressured. Alone. That's what so many of the women and men in these true stories felt when faced with an unexpected pregnancy. Many believed they had no alternative but to abort their child, while others made the difficult decision to choose life. All live with the consequences of that decision. And all have experienced the healing grace and mercy of God.
Their stories will touch your heart, expand your ability to offer compassion to all affected by abortion, and provide practical tools and guidance through the healing process.
“Irresistible” by Andy Stanley is a fantastic book. This book has caused a lot of controversy but give it a chance. I read the book 3 times and listened to the audio version once. This book has change the way I view of ministry. it has changed the way I speak with millennials. This is an amazing book!!
Fresh Joy was written by a good friend of mine. This is Heidi’s 4th book. Heidi has experienced tremendous loss in her life, but was able to find joy in the little things. If you have lost a loved one through death, or divorce. If you have lost a child, or are estranged from a child. Maybe you have lost your job, experienced the loss of a dream or life just didn’t turn out the way you had hopes. It’s all loss and this book is something you can relate to.
“Fervent” by Priscilla Shirer came out of Priscilla’s role in the movie “War Room.” It is an amazing book on learning how to pray or changing your existing prayer life. Great for a small group study or to read on your own.
